Jazz In Church Festival

Jazz in the Church arrives in 2019 at the seventh edition of four consecutive jazz days in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bucharest. Jazz and Contemporary Music will be heard in March 7-10 in the wonderful acoustic space of the worship place.

The audience will enjoy the reunion with the masters Francois Couturier (piano, France), Michele Rabbia (percussion, Italy), Anja Lechner (cello, Germany) who together with Maria Pia de Vito, Italy's jazz emblematic singer - Il Pergolese. Inspired by 18th-century Italian composer Giovanni Battista Draghi (Pergolesi), the quartet proposes a reinterpretation of his music by stylizing and decoding fragments taken from both his instrumental works and the notorious voice passages in a stage-rich formula electronic effects and in which the voice of Maria Pia de Vito often turns into an unequaled instrument, and cello Anja Lechner takes over the original score written to the voices.

Among the breakthroughs are Marko Batkovic - an accordion magician, whom he uses in a minimalist and avant-garde key, Edmar Castaneda - a Colombian jazzman who returns the harp in the foreground or the saxophone duo and organ composed of Rain Sultanov and Isfar Sarabski, who will meet us with the Azerbaijan jazz scene.

The Jazz for Kids has already become a tradition loved by the little ones, and will give children enthusiastic about the art of the show and this year's opportunity to listen to their favorite jazz songs in perfect acoustics.
