Thessaloniki Piano Festival

The Thessaloniki Piano Festival is a unique cultural event for the city of Thessaloniki and the country of Greece as a whole. It was organized for the first time in 2012 and since then, for more than a month each autumn, about 15 piano-driven events take place in Thessaloniki and other cities of Macedonia and Thrace. In five years, it has succeeded in gaining a prominent role in the music of the city, attracting the interest and participation of some 25,000 spectators. At the same time, as a unique event in Greece, it managed to establish itself in the consciousness of the ambitious audience as a dominant pillar of the pianistic reality of our days. The aim of the Festival is to promote arts education, to step up the young artists and to actively contribute to the cultural identity of our city.

Despite the adverse economic conditions prevailing in our country in recent years, the Thessaloniki Piano Festival managed to grow and become viable, both thanks to the warm welcome it received from the public and the valuable support of individuals, local bodies and businesses town.

The Festival has collaborated  with the most important artistic and educational institutions in Thessaloniki, such as the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Macedonia, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the The Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki, the Conservatory of Music College.
