Mataroa Gallery presents the first solo exhibition of Orfeas Batsios entitled "...in your mature, bitter memory". The exhibition focuses on memory as an active inner place, where experience acquires depth and form through the act of painting. The title comes from the poem "When a Spring" by Manolis Anagnostakis and functions as a point of reference for the way in which the past subtly illuminates the present.

In Batsios' works, the figures stand with a simple, almost austere presence, creating the sense of an internal dialogue. The faces seem to be searching not for a narrative, but for a state — where experience turns into memory and memory into a calm presence.

The exhibition is accompanied by the poetry collection Like Spring by Daphne Darla, published by Mataroa Gallery. The coexistence of speech and image creates a parallel reading axis, with a shared atmosphere of purity and restrained optimism.

The Artistic Director of Mataroa Gallery, Nikos Papadopoulos, notes that “the work of Orfeas Batsios constitutes an authentic testimony, which looks forward without losing the depth of experience.”

Η Mataroa Gallery παρουσιάζει την πρώτη ατομική έκθεση του Ορφέα Μπάτσιου με τίτλο "...στην ώριμη, πικραμένη σου μνήμη". Η έκθεση επικεντρώνεται στη μνήμη ως ενεργό εσωτερικό τόπο, όπου η εμπειρία αποκτά βάθος και μορφή μέσα από τη ζωγραφική πράξη. Ο τίτλος προέρχεται από το ποίημα «Όταν μιαν άνοιξη» του Μανώλη Αναγνωστάκη και λειτουργεί ως σημείο αναφοράς για τον τρόπο με τον οποίο το παρελθόν φωτίζει διακριτικά το παρόν.

Στα έργα του Μπάτσιου, οι μορφές στέκονται με μια λιτή, σχεδόν αυστηρή παρουσία, δημιουργώντας την αίσθηση ενός εσωτερικού διαλόγου. Τα πρόσωπα μοιάζουν να αναζητούν όχι μια αφήγηση, αλλά μια κατάσταση — εκεί όπου η εμπειρία μετατρέπεται σε μνήμη και η μνήμη σε ήρεμη παρουσία.

Η έκθεση συνοδεύεται από την ποιητική συλλογή Σαν Άνοιξη της Δάφνης Ντάρλα, που κυκλοφορεί από τις εκδόσεις της Mataroa Gallery. Η συνύπαρξη λόγου και εικόνας δημιουργεί έναν παράλληλο άξονα ανάγνωσης, με κοινή ατμόσφαιρα καθαρότητας και συγκρατημένης αισιοδοξίας.

Ο Καλλιτεχνικός Διευθυντής της Mataroa Gallery, Νίκος Παπαδόπουλος, σημειώνει ότι «η δουλειά του Ορφέα Μπάτσιου αποτελεί μια αυθεντική κατάθεση, που κοιτάζει μπροστά χωρίς να χάνει το βάθος της εμπειρίας».
